ABOUT THE JOB:
We are looking for a researcher to join its systematic review team and to work on a suite of AI tools that support decision-making in healthcare. Working with us you will grow professionally, participate in impactful projects, and have a real opportunity to publish in leading journals. You will create interesting products that actually matter!
The job holder will be responsible for supporting the development of Laser LLM, our AI-based computer system that synthesizes available knowledge about a given health problem continuously and with minimal human involvement, accelerating the research and improving its quality.
It is essential that the candidate has experience in preparing literature reviews (including systematic reviews), as well as a thorough knowledge of the methodology of evidence synthesis research.

This position requires the candidate to be employed in Poland via "umowa o pracę". Please do not apply if you are not a Polish resident with a work permit there.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work in a research team with a lot of creative freedom and empowerment and closely collaborating with designers and the Agile software development teams.
- Conducting evidence synthesis research (systematic reviews, methodological reviews, pilot reviews, validation reviews, building search strategies, study protocols, etc.)
- Developing protocols for novel applications of evidence synthesis.
- Creating datasets for training of AI models
- Testing new solutions in Laser AI
- Providing methodological knowledge to the designers,the software development team, and the clients
- Bringing your ideas to the table – everyone can contribute to the design and shape of our products

QUALIFICATIONS:
GENERAL SKILLS
- 1+ years of experience in conducting systematic reviews, HTA reports, targeted literature reviews, or similar (good knowledge of Cochrane methods and working knowledge of statistical methods used in evidence synthesis are a definitive plus)
- Professional working proficiency in English (upper intermediate level [B2] – most communication relies on a good command of English)
- Good understanding of clinical and biological concepts: bachelor’s or higher degree in health-related fields (e.g., medicine, pharmacy, public health, computational toxicology, environmental health, biotechnology, or other biomedical sciences)
- The candidate must already live in Poland and be able to be formally employed there (UoP)

TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Ability to independently and quickly learn new software required for the project (e.g. markdown text editors, text annotation tools).
- Practical knowledge of biomedical literature databases and search engines (e.g. PubMed, Ovid, Scopus etc.)
- Practical knowledge of reference management software (e.g. EndNote, Mendeley, Zotero etc.) and systematic review software (e.g. RevMan, Covidence, Rayyan, EPPI-Reviewer, DistillerSR, etc.) is a plus.

We are seeking an experienced Senior AI Specialist to join our innovative Laser LLM project, focused on developing an advanced systematic review system powered by large language models. You will be responsible for researching and implementing cutting-edge AI solutions for processing medical and scientific literature. The project follows agile methodology and utilizes state-of-the-art machine learning technologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and implement custom PyTorch models for scientific literature processing
- Develop and optimize prompt engineering strategies
- Fine-tune and adapt third-party models from HuggingFace and other sources

As a member of the R&D team you will be responsible for discovery and designing the flow for system's functionalities, for the system's user interface and for its accessibility. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- You will be a member of the team that works on a Laser LLM project - a new generation of literature review automation tool for healthcare.
- You will design the functionalities, draft how they look and work, meet with internal and external users and other stakeholders to gather their feedback and new requirements, and cooperate with the software development team and QA to have the features you designed appear in the tool.
- You will make sure that the functionalities are accessible.
- You will write documentation and help produce marketing materials to promote the functionalities.
