POSTED BY POSTED IN Company News, New Features | No Comments

In February, we celebrated surpassing 30K users of GRADEpro. Your trust in GRADEpro and your active feedback are a real source of motivation for our team to improve and develop the tool. To be accurate, for those of you who are statistics fans, on the 1st of February, we recorded exactly 30,606 users, 54,281 projects, 115,674 questions , 46,397 questions imported from RevMan, and 13,943 iEtD recommendations.

Multi Comparisons

In the next step toward making GRADEpro even more useful for different groups and facilitating customized presentations of results, we’ve introduced a new module. Multi Comparisons, as the module name implies, enables users to compare multiple interventions between each other within a single recommendation framework.

From evidence to policy making - 23 November 2017

POSTED BY POSTED IN #GRADEplanet, Evidence Based Policy Making, GRADE methodology | No Comments

How to keep people alive and in the best possible health?

Whether you are a methodologist, a physician or a statistician, you would like to find your work useful and beneficial. The field in which we would like to make the most impact by using GRADE methodology is medicine, and the goal of medicine is to keep people alive and in the best possible health for as long as possible. To achieve this goal, we conduct systematic reviews and develop guidelines, and use available tools to verify the available data and to tailor recommendations to patient preferences and local conditions. Evidence Prime is developing software that partly automates and accelerates systematic reviews and guidelines development. The purpose of well-documented, evidence-based policy is to enable patients to benefit from the latest advances in scientific research. How to efficiently and effectively implement this knowledge within the health care system is not an easy question. Unfortunately, in few countries, even well-developed ones, there is a system of “early information”. This is not just because the health-care machine has a lot of inertia; the problem goes much deeper, and also higher up at the administrative level.

To use the analogy of the human body: The head has to hear and understand what the scientists have to say. Then the heart must initiate the action by pumping blood into the arteries. Then the limbs start moving. Before making changes to medical policy, first the decision makers need to understand the evidence and need to want to make the changes. Read More

PanelVoice: examples of use - 20 October 2017

POSTED BY POSTED IN Company News, New Features | No Comments

GRADEpro and its modules are engineered to improve the work of methodologists, stakeholders and experts in the field of evidence-based medicine, especially in developing guidelines or systematic reviews. While using GRADEpro and PanelVoice you can work online or offline, on a computer, notebook or mobile device.

We’ve tried to make the use of the add-on as intuitive as possible. Take a look at the examples on how to use PanelVoice to secure your decision-making flow:

  1. A methodologist prepares research evidence and proposed judgments for the assessment section of the iEtD. The proposed judgments are sent before the panel meeting to the panel group to gather their feedback and identify possible disagreements. The type of recommendation and the final recommendation text is formulated during the meeting and will not be sent through the forms.

PanelVoice – how to use - 16 October 2017

POSTED BY POSTED IN Company News, New Features | No Comments

PanelVoice, a new add-on to GRADEpro, has just been launched. As a facilitator for panel management we recommend the use of PanelVoice by groups, organisations, universities and other institutions to make their guideline development or systematic review process more efficient. PanelVoice expands the possibilities of the standard GRADEpro software by adding new ways of interaction between the panel leader (methodologist) and panel members in the decision making process.

To get full access to this functionality, please contact us: We will set the rules of use based on your needs and scope of projects.

How does PanelVoice work?

PanelVoice is an additional to the basic GRADEpro functionality. Any account owner who wants to use this added feature has to purchase the module. Please note, that it is not necessary to purchase the expansion for every panel member, just for people who are administering the process and are interested in having access to the collected data.

The system is based on iEtD recommendation forms which are sent to the panel by email. Panel members enter an attached private link and provide their feedback on the decided scope in the web forms. Finally they are able to submit their answers and all the information is delivered live to the methodologist. Results are aggregated and presented on the iEtD recommendations panel for easy access and analysis.

Toward Evidence-Based Software Engineering with GRADEpro - 09 October 2017

POSTED BY POSTED IN Company News, GRADE methodology, Uncategorised | No Comments

The articles that mention our core software – GRADEpro, are usually written from methodological/medical perspective. The baseline is GRADE approach or dilemmas connected to systematic reviews preparation and the technical details are hidden. Last week the situation has changed 😉

We are very happy to announce publication of the article “Toward Evidence-Based Software Engineering” authored by our colleagues, Artur Nowak – Evidence Prime’s Chief Technology Officer, and Holger Schünemann – the Chair of the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact at McMaster and co-chair of the GRADE working group.

The text has appeared in IEEE Xplore, the organ of IEEE Computer Society:

A handful of memories from Cape Town - 21 September 2017

POSTED BY POSTED IN #GRADEplanet, Company News | No Comments

Zbys and Eric have just came back from Global Evidence Summit in Cape Town. These were very intensive days, full of inspiring meetings, interesting speeches and instructive workshops.

Could be anything more satisfying for Evidence Prime than popularity of our core software? GRADEpro is the leader of interactive tools used by Grade Working Group according to Zachary Munn’s speech ”User preferences regarding online tools for systematic review and guideline production: results from a G-I-N Tech Survey”. Yes, we are really proud!

Livia Puljak from #CochraneCroatia used our new GRADEpro module for discordant reviews.

GRADE workshops were also led with a little help from GRADEpro tools and Zbys himself.

This year the global situation seemed to call for a global approach and we decided to act during the Global Evidence Summit. We stand for research methods, evidence, and we want to make an impact. To us, the GRADE approach symbolises rational thinking, scientific inquiry, and embracing of unavoidable uncertainty. This is why “Make the planet GRADE again” idea appeared and Homo Sapiens Manifesto was proclaimed (

The results of the action exceeded our expectations. Yes, we see the need of spreading GRADE idea and idea of common sense in the world, but so often, and we are sure you feel sometimes the same – we feel being alone with our beliefs and convictions. In Cape Town we felt a part of the big solidarity group, wanting the better World, thinking logically, open for discussion, ready to explain. More than 1500 views of #HomoSapiensManifesto on, over 1000 twitter entries (@grade_planet), over 150 signatures under the manifesto – this is the result of our happening and your commitment.

Finally we would like to thank all the people who have supported #GRADEplanet. The warm feedback we experienced is the major evidence for the need of clarity, logic and education in medical science. Thank you so much for your support. See you soon!

Make the planet GRADE again! - 13 September 2017

POSTED BY POSTED IN Company News, GRADE methodology | No Comments

We invite you to take a look at “Make the planet GRADE again” action ( #gradeplanet @grade_planet). Recent global political situation (as racist attacs), as well as the changing position of science that faces quasi-scientific theories (e.g. antivaccine campaigns), prompts us to sign under the manifesto that points the reset of common sense in public space. We are a part of the world, for which education and respect for the environment and the other man is a basic value. Integral element of this concern is the effort to improve medical care in the world. Although obvious for many, barriers to achieve health and well-being often arise from ignorance. But we have also become accustomed to health care guidelines based on verified available studies. In the context of current scientific consciousness the standard is GRADE and it is irresponsible although possible that some would take a step back to the pre-GRADE era. The GRADE Working Group’s brainstorms, the Cochrane Collaboration efforts, and activity of several centers around the world that develop software for making guidelines and systematic reviews prove that there is still room for action throughout our community to strengthen GRADE consciousness and disseminate GRADE tools.

We feel ourselves very much the part of GRADE planet. Join us at and Global Evidence Summit 2017
